How do bloggers make money with ClickBank?

You've come to the right place if you're considering adding ClickBank to your income sources in 2022. ClickBank is a terrific platform for affiliate marketers, but it has a bad side that you should be aware of before diving in.

In the past, I've always been afraid to write about how I monetized my blog or websites. But in 2020, I resolved to alter everything.

I've discussed how I earn passive income through affiliate marketing and advertising the items I use and enjoy in various postings over the last few years.

Affiliate marketing has always been at the forefront of my blog monetization methods.

With affiliate marketing, I've had both positive and negative experiences. Throughout the process, I've made numerous errors.

In addition, I've squandered a lot of time and effort on strategies that never worked, and I can't tell you how much money I've squandered on useless things. All of my mistakes have taught me great lessons.

Let's jump ahead to 2022, twelve years after my first affiliate transaction.

Affiliate marketing accounts for 90% of the revenue generated by Mayhem Star. Selling my own digital products, such as my eBook, generates 10% of my income.

That, in my perspective, is a horrible thing. I've spent so much time and effort on affiliate marketing that I haven't thought of other ways to monetize my blog. Other than the blog, I have other sources of income. Amazon Affiliate Sites, YouTube Ad Revenue, and shortly, offering online courses are just a few examples.

Why is affiliate marketing crucial for bloggers and freelancers?

I have to say, I haven't met many bloggers or freelancers who don't use affiliate marketing in some way.

Affiliate marketing will continue to thrive in 2022 and beyond. It should be a key component of every internet business strategy, including yours, for the following reasons:

It's fantastic to be able to earn money while providing services through your blog or website. You truly believe you are adding value. Because I run a freelancing business at FVM, I am well aware of this.

As a solopreneur, freelancer, or blogger, you should never rely just on one source of revenue.

Enough with the words. I'd like to talk about promoting affiliate products on your site in this post. I'd want to show you how to generate money with ClickBank, an affiliate network with which you're already familiar.

Making money with ClickBank since 2010:-

I've been an affiliate with ClickBank since 2010. I created my first blog the same year.

I'll tell you the truth right now:

ClickBank no longer generates a large quantity of passive revenue for me. Nonetheless, I'd like to believe that I can still provide you some useful tips and guidance. Particularly if you're just getting started.

As you can see from the screenshots above, gross sales per week aren't significant and might fluctuate significantly. However, in our line of work, every penny matters.

What exactly is ClickBank?

With over 200 million clients worldwide, ClickBank is one of the largest online retailers on the web, having been launched in 1998.

ClickBank is a well-known online marketplace where entrepreneurs, also known as sellers, may offer a variety of digital goods. Affiliates can assist in the promotion of those products while also earning a nice commission.

What are the ClickBank items like?

This is when things get a little tangled.

The infrastructure is fantastic, but the quality of the products offered for promotion is where ClickBank falls short.

The majority of the items available on this marketplace are garbage. Around 80% of the products, in my opinion, are crap and should be avoided at all costs.

The remaining 20% are decent to excellent, and I'll name a few goods that I think you should look into shortly.

How do I search for things on ClickBank?

Searching the ClickBank marketplace for products to investigate and promote is the simplest way to do so. You should be able to go to Marketplace in the top menu and browse through the categories after logging into your primary account dashboard. You can browse each category's sub-categories.

You may also search for products using the product search box. (See photos below.)

The products featured in the categories and subcategories will be ranked by popularity, with the average sale ranging from high to low.

Using the dropdown menu, you may alter your search. You can also use filters and attributes to narrow down your search. (See illustration below.)

If I'm looking for a product to advertise on ClickBank, which happens infrequently, I usually sort the results by Average percent Rebill or Gravity.

Because I prefer to advertise products that will make me recurring money over time, I prefer to check the Average percent Rebill.

You'll earn a little commission every month as long as that consumer is signed up for a monthly offer or service.

The Gravity metric estimates how many affiliates were able to successfully promote a product from a particular account. This is important to remember when conducting your study since it will indicate how successful you will be in promoting that product.

Why should you buy the ClickBank items you want to promote?

After you've compiled a list of suitable products to market, the next step is to buy them, investigate them, and use them in your business for a month or two.

If you don't want to buy the product or it's too expensive, you can always request a free copy or a free trial run if it's a service from the product author.

You can get a yes or a no. If you have a large audience in a specific niche, the answer is almost certainly yes. However, you will never know unless you ask.

So, why should you buy and test before promoting?

I truly believe that purchasing a product to review is such a vital step, but many bloggers and affiliate marketers overlook it totally.

Instead, they wind up advocating a product or service they are unfamiliar with or have never used.

For all they know, that product could be substandard. That's the point I'm trying to make: they won't know.

With ClickBank, you have to be especially cautious not to wind up supporting or recommending trashy products to your viewers. So, before you advertise or advocate something on your blog, go out and buy it. Even if the product is subpar, you can still write an honest review explaining why you believe it is a waste of money.

Why do I no longer look for things to promote on ClickBank?

In my experience, if I'm utilizing a product that I appreciate in my business, I'll gladly promote and recommend it to my clients and blog readers.

So, if I find out that the product is being pushed through the ClickBank marketplace, I can simply enter my ClickBank account and look for it. I rarely need to look for things to advertise on ClickBank.

At the moment, I'm only promoting about 6 or 7 decent ClickBank products. I'm sure I could locate and promote a few more, but that's not how I do or encourage affiliate marketing.

ClickBank Compensation:-

I've never had difficulty getting paid in the 12 years I've been using ClickBank. You can choose to be paid by check or by direct deposit into your bank account.

Direct deposit is my preferred method because it is both quick and convenient.

To be eligible for payment, you must have a minimum of $10 in your ClickBank account. You can, however, change this minimum on your payment options page to something greater. Mine is normally set at $100.

The most effective methods for promoting ClickBank goods on your blog:-

Now that you know a little bit about ClickBank and how to find products to promote, let me share the strategies I use to promote and market ClickBank products with you.

It's worth noting that you don't need a blog or a website to promote affiliate products. If you have a YouTube channel or social media profiles, you can use them as long as you don't spam them.

However, I would advise you to start your own site with your own material and an existing readership. For the following reasons, I believe this is the best path forward:

  • It is your platform, not another's.
  • It's your content, and you have complete control and ownership over it.
  • You've earned the trust of your audience and readers.

Trust is Everything...

Your success in advertising ClickBank products will be determined by various elements, just like any other affiliate campaign -

  • The size of your audience and readership.
  • Your community's level of trust in you, your site, and your material.
  • If you're establishing a new blog with little traffic, readers, or subscribers, you should prioritize creating a community.

Product suitability:-

"Product bearing" is something I haven't mentioned yet.

Depending on your expertise or sector, I propose that you at least try to promote things that are relevant to your field.

If you run a lifestyle blog, for example, be sure the things you promote are relevant to your niche, goals, and vision. It's only common sense.

OK, enough of my stalling! Let me explain some of the strategies I use on my site, MayhemStar, to promote ClickBank items.

The Best ClickBank Product Promotion Strategies!

It's here!

#1. Create lessons and product demos with video.

My preferred method of promoting any affiliate product or service is through video.

As you may be aware, I have a rapidly expanding YouTube channel where I frequently discuss the tools, products, apps, and services that I employ in my business.

I also make a lot of tutorial and demo videos. Because the majority of my channel's viewers are WordPress users, I evaluate, promote, and showcase a variety of WordPress-related products, such as plugins, themes, and software.

Because video is so strong, using it can be incredibly effective. In fact, after watching a video, nearly 80% of buyers are more likely to purchase a product with confidence.

To make basic instructive films on YouTube, you don't need to be a video expert. You can simply describe why you enjoy using a product, what problems it helps you solve, and why you suggest it.

#2: Write product evaluations

Blogging and writing reviews are, of course, my second favorite content marketing method for advertising ClickBank and affiliate products.

Blogging is still often regarded as the most effective type of online content marketing, and with good reason. More than half of marketers have made blogging their top focus!

What makes you think that?

Of sure, because online reviews have influenced over 90% of consumers' purchasing decisions!

Isn't that sufficient?

So, as you can see, a well-written review can include just about all there is to know about an affiliate product or service. You can really go all out with it and not miss a beat.

Don't be turned off if you discover during your investigation that there are other reviews to compete with.

All you have to do now is improve yours. Respond to questions that previous reviewers have left unanswered. Cover regions of a product that have been overlooked by previous articles. Make your review the most thorough ever.

#3. Make a list post

Are you familiar with the concept of a list post?

These, too, can be highly effective. List postings are popular because they are quick to read and glance through.

These days, you could produce a top 10, 20, or 30 list post for just about anything. Perhaps a compilation of the best tools, apps, services, books, resources, advice, and ideas.

There may be an affiliate link or two to a product on ClickBank that you enjoy among the items in your lists!

#4. Include hyperlinks on your resources page.

Consider including a few links to your favorite ClickBank goods on your blog's dedicated tools and resources page, as most bloggers do.

Write a brief description of the product, explain why you use it, and provide a link to any product reviews you have.

People will know where to go to learn more if you are hotlink the product image or use CTA buttons.

#5: Place banners strategically.

Placing banners is no longer as effective as it once was, but that doesn't mean they don't work.

The best way to know for sure is to do your own tests.

Create some pictures of your high-impact pages and blog posts that display your banners using a free tool like CrazyEgg. You'll be able to tell whether folks are actually clicking on your banners or just scrolling past them.

#6. Become a member of ClickBank University.

Last but not least, if you're new to ClickBank and want to get the most out of the network as an affiliate, ClickBank University can be worth your time and money.

Personally, I've never used it, but I've read some positive reviews about CB University, and from what I've seen, it appears to offer some useful training and resources for novices.

If you don't want to pay money for a course to learn about affiliate marketing, do some research on your own. There is plenty of free training available online if you know where to seek it. A smart place to start is YouTube.

It's all over!

That's all there is to it! Some simple yet effective strategies to earn money from your blog by promoting your ClickBank affiliate items.

Hopefully, you found some of the suggestions and ideas in this article helpful in getting started. Finally, if you're new to affiliate marketing or need to brush up on your skills, I recommend a couple books from the Amazon marketplace. All of these books are excellent, and I recommend them to everyone.

Best wishes to you.
